Tuesday 16th September
After the strong wind of the last two days (more strong wind) we were back out today and conditions were surprisingly benign. This morning we saw several grey seals round the island and a couple of groups of harbour porpoises, but on the whole it was rather quiet. This afternoon we tried a different route and again found several groups of porpoises, then the remains of a large feeding frenzy of gannets and common dolphins. On the way back in, we again watched the seals who were being very entertaining – Kelp is now heavily pregnant, extremely stroppy and protective of her personal space. There was lots of loud grumbling going on!
