Friday 25th July

minke whale

It was a beautiful morning today for our Ocean Discovery trip, and we saw loads of wildlife – porposies, lots of common dolphins and grey seals. We also saw some tuna breaching and managed to get a photo – never a foregone conclusion with tuna! On the afternoon Discovery Voyage the sun disappered but the sightings were just as good, with the seals still resting on the rocks, and lots more harbour porpoises spotted in the bay in two different encounters. Further out I caught a glimpse of what I was sure was a whale further in, so we sailed back towards shore and found some very interactive dolphins rushing around. As we were having a sail with dolphin accompaniment the minke whale popped up again and after some hide and seek, we got some really good views as it kept pace with us.
