Wednesday 2nd July
We had a Discovery Voyage followed by a Bay Discovery trip today. This morning we found a pod of at least 12 Risso’s dolphins down the coast. There were a couple of individuals in particular who we got good views of, and picked up some useful photos for photo ID purposes. We also had some lovely encounters with some seals at the cove round near Land’s End, especially a grumpy looking male. This afternoon the northerly wind really whipped up which gave us a speedy sail westwards on the hunt for the Risso’s again, with no luck on that score. On the way back into the bay we found a heap of grey seals on the island sheltering from the wind, with the little juvenile from the morning still high up on its perch.
