Tuesday 26th May

People on a boat watching dolphins swimming in the ocean.

It was another mirror calm day and we had common dolphins on all three trips. The first of these was a three hour Ocean Discovery, when we saw multiple pods including mums with some very small calves. We were extra careful around them for this reason, stopping still and allowing them to come to us. We also saw some grey seals on the island, who are looking very hot in this intense warmth and sunshine. On the first of the afternoon trips, the dolphins were a little trickier and more distant, but we also had great views of another sunfish. This still clear water is so perfect for watching them. And on the last Bay Discovery of the day we had a very special encounter with very sociable pod, who kept coming in from all directions. Watching them in such still water almost feels as though you’re in the water too. To finish the trip we found another sunfish by the coast, and this one breached clear of the surface five times in a row!
