We had three Bay Discovery trips today, which is our shortest trip at two hours long. On the first two we had lovely views of a pod of Risso’s dolphins which were quietly resting in the bay. As ever with this species we gave them extra space, as they are not generally known for interacting with boats and they often want to doze during daylight hours which can leave them vulnerable to disturbance. A group of four very white adults and a younger darker individuals gave us some lovely views. We also saw some grey seals, both on the rocks and in the water, and had some good seabird sightings including a great skua. On the third trip of the day the dolphins had moved on, leaving us with seals and a variety of seabirds including gannets and shearwaters.
