Thursday 25th August

grey seals
It was a miserable mizzly morning today so we cancelled the four hour trip and went out for the Bay Discovery trip at 2pm when it cleared up a bit. There were more seals hauled out than we have seen for ages – a mixture of adult males, females and juveniles numbering 15 in total. There was lots of snapping and moaning going on as you can see from the photo. A little further on we found a small pod of common dolphins who would have been really easy to miss, they were keeping such a low profile. We sailed quietly nearby and they were happy to surface a few times before carrying on with what they were doing. Heading out into the bay we saw a porpoise, possibly two. I’m still on the small lens, so I’m pleased with the photo I did manage to get.

Back to a normal schedule tomorrow as the weather hopefully improves.
