Thursday 24th July

minke whale

It was a mega busy day yesterday, with an Ocean Discovery followed by two Bay Discovery trips. Lots to see out there in the morning with common dolphins, porpoises, a minke whale and grey seals as well as lots of diving gannets (where have the sheawaters gone? Offshore meeting the incoming tuna? Time will tell). On the first of the afternoon trip, the northerly wind had built and it got rather hazy and it seemed everything had moved a little further west than the range of the two hour trip, but this changed a couple of hours later as the tide pushed and there were lots of dolphins and gannets to see again.
