Wednesday 10th June
More blustery conditions today and some sharp showers first thing. Cornwall has certainly provided some extremes over the last couple of weeks. This morning we headed out on an Ocean Discovery, hugging the coast initially to stay out of the worst of the wind, before sailing back with the swells behind us. There were lots…
Monday 25th May
It was another spectacular day with masses of wildlife, and the added bonus of the paddle steamer “Waverley” visiting Penzance for the second time in three years. Always such a wonderful thing to see especially on a beautiful day like this. This morning it was quite a quiet start until we had a great encounter…
Tuesday 12th May
It was another windy day with awesome sailing conditions. We headed further out this time and there were a few more Manx shearwaters than there were yesterday, though on the whole everything was rather quiet. The coast and sea looked magnificent in the shafts of sunlight – the sea was cobalt blue. Inshore we saw…

Friday 8th May

This was based their movements yesterday – Risso’s dolphins can sometimes be predictable! They swam past us fairly close…
Saturday 26th April
We left the harbour on this mornings Discovery Voyage in the ‘mizzle’ but this defiantly did not hamper today’s sightings. We stumbled across a large amount of seabirds fairly quickly. They mainly consisted of razorbills, guillemots and Manx shearwaters, many of them returning with sandeels in their beaks. Pulling into the island we counted 5…
Thursday 24th April
There was plenty of seabird action today, with big rafts of shearwaters and gannets who had been feeding very recently. There spotted a guillemot with a sandeel still in its mouth – at some point we will see some puffins. There was a grey seal around the island. The tide has been fairly unfavourable for…
