Monday 11th May

Seal swimming near large rocks in the ocean.

After a windy weekend, it was a completely different day to when we were last out on Friday. A cold northerly breeze had pushed everything way out to sea and we struggled to find much wildlife. There were  a few gannets, auks and shearwaters around, and a shy girl seal was spotted under Logan Rock, and another male hauled out on the island. It was a beautiful day, with the sun going in and out from behind clouds, turning the water azure where it shone.  We saw Trinity House’s vessel the “Galatea” servicing the Runnelstone buoy down near Gwennap Head. And we had a fantastic sail on that breeze, only turning the engines on at the end of the trip in the push back into the bay.
