Saturday 31st May

Risso's dolphins

We had a three hour trip today which turned into a nearly four hour trip, as we found a large pod of Risso’s dolphins. These numbered over 2o altogether, though they were pretty spaced out and acting in a very “Risso-y” way! There were also grey seals round the island both on the rocks and in the water, including the female known as “Horned Serpent” who we have watched for a number of years now. There were plenty of seabirds to see, and we also watched the Sandy Cove gig race which was a fine sight.
