Saturday 14th June
We had a lovely look at several harbour porpoises on this morning’s Ocean Discovery trip. While we see them very frequently later in the summer, views at this time of year are often more difficult and fleeting, but not today! We also saw some common dolphins, lots of seabirds and some grey seals hauled out. On the Bay Discovery this afternoon, the seals were still there, looking very content in the warm June sunshine. Further south we spotted some major seabird activity, so we headed out into the waves, sure that there would be some dolphins there too. There weren’t but the feeding seabirds – diving gannets and hundreds of shearwaters – gave us some fantastic views.
We still need a few more for a trip tomorrow morning if anyone does want a trip this weekend. This would be at 9am. I’m going to close that to online bookings at 7.30 this evening so if you do want to do it, please book before then.
