Risso's dolphin

The strong northerly wind meant we postponed the Discovery Voyage trip this morning, but it was ok for the Ocean Discovery at 2pm. We had a great trip despite the wind, with some very enthusiastic friendly passengers. They were rewarded with a fantastic Risso’s dolphin encounter – a  pod of at least 12 animals. They may be the same ones as we have been seeing lately, or different ones but we got some good fin ID shots to  find out. They stayed with us for a long while as we sailed slowly down the coast, keeping close to the cliffs to stay out of the wind. One young animal in particular was very friendly.
