Monday 26th June

ocean sunfish

We had two fantastic trips today, with a Discovery Voyage in the morning and an Ocean Discovery trip in the afternoon. This morning we had two species of dolphins spotted, with great encounters with common dolphins and then with Risso’s. Risso’s dolphins can be shy and sedate but in the this instance they were very interactive and even bow rode along with the sailing catamaran. Check the FB page for some video https://www.facebook.com/marinediscovery . There were more seals on the island than we have seen for a long time as well. This afternoon we found the same pod of Risso’s twice more, the seals on the island again, and we also saw the biggest sunfish we have ever seen! It had some proper chunks missing from its fin.
