Monday 14th August

common dolphin

It was so choppy this morning after the overnight wind that we sadly had to cancel the morning trip. However it did calm down enough and the wind switched through the morning for us to run the afternoon Ocean Discovery, and we had a really good trip. We found grey seals at the island and we then found several groups of very interactive energetic common dolphins. They gave our passengers some lovely encounters, and the sun even came out! We also had awesome views again of the beautiful Cory’s and great shearwaters – they are such beautiful seabirds, and it’s not at all usual to see so many of them close inshore like this, especially seeing as we haven’t even had to chum for them. We also saw storm petrels again, and Manx shearwaters.
