Sunday 13th August

common dolphin

More windy and sometimes wet weather today but the wildlife was all there to be found. Many thanks to our awesome staff and guests as ever for braving the conditions to come out and look for it with us. On the Bay Discovery this morning it was actually a bit drier and calmer, and we found several seals hauled out on the rocks, and later a large groups of common dolphins feeding under gannets. On this afternoon’s four hour trip conditions deteriorated a bit, but we still found several groups of common dolphins here there and everywhere, as well as some porpoises. Seabird sightings included several pelagic species again including Cory’s and great shearwaters, and storm petrels.
