Friday 14th August

It was a dark dim day today; it even tried to rain this afternoon, though it was still very warm. There were hundreds of dolphins in the bay today, maybe even up to a thousand. They were mainly concentrating on feeding with and around the tuna, and there were some massive fish down there. There was barely a patch of sea that didn’t contain dolphins this morning. A bit of a northwesterly breeze got up and we were able to go for a lovely relaxing sail after watching the dolphins. At the end of the tour we spotted several grey seals and a single Risso’s dolphin.
This afternoon was more of the same really, though there were a lot more feeding gannets and we had closer views of the Risso’s. They were very unpredictable and hard to photograph though.
The weather seems to be slowly on the change a bit. Some cooler conditions would be welcome. While it has not been as hot as it has been further east and we have had a cooling breeze, it’s very dry. Day off tomorrow so we will be back on the water on Monday.
