Wednesday 18th June
It was such a beautiful day today after a dull start. This morning we had a four hour Discovery Voyage and we saw some excellent seabird action, including a sooty shearwater which sat on the water right next to the boat, looking back at us! We also saw some grey seals, two ocean sunfish, and at the end of the trip, some common dolphins. On the afternoon Bay Discovery, conditions were perfect for looking for fins, and we saw two groups of common dolphins. The lovely thing about these encounters was that the dolphins completely ignored us – they didn’t swim away, they didn’t come towards us – they just carried on doing exactly what they were doing when we spotted them. Our passengers loved this!
