Tuesday 2nd July

grey seals on rock

It was a long day today  – today and tomorrow we are taking out the whole of the Year 2 group from a local primary school. This meant 3 back to back trips with them today followed by a “normal” Bay Discovery at the end of the day, and the other class are coming out tomorrow. We had good fun. They have been doing an oceans topic and learning about all kind of sea-related things, as well as singing sea shanties and we were treated to the Wellerman and various others throughout the day! Over the course of the day they had a go at helping to crew and steer the boat, as well as spotting the different seabirds and seals we saw. On the evening Bay Discovery we saw three harbour porpoises as well as a lovely variety of seabirds.
