Tuesday 19th August

A dolphin jumping out of the water in a wavy ocean.

It was a really long day yesterday with 2 Ocean Discovery trips followed by a Bay Discovery at the end of the day. Both the longer trips saw lots of common dolphins and a few sneaky porpoises, though during the afternoon especially we had to go a really long way to find them. It had calmed down a lot after the three days of hot easterly wind, though the sea state was still “awkward”. In the evening we went east this time and had some lovely encounters with lots of harbour porpoises who were feeding under diving gannets.
