Thursday 8th May
It was another day of two halves, with a wildlife filled morning and a pretty quiet afternoon. This morning we found two large groups of common dolphins which stayed with us for ages, bowriding the boat and giving everyone some lovely views. We also saw a couple of seals and lots of seabirds. There was also a dead seal being scavenged by a great black backed gull. This afternoon we had great views of a great northern diver which was the bravest one I have ever seen – they normally dive down before you can get near them, but this one was very chilled. There were also Manx shearwaters, guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes. We had an exciting sail on the brisk southeasterly wind.
