Sunday 30th June

grey seals

Today felt cold! We had a four hour then a three hour trip, and the four hour this morning was surprisingly quiet. We saw a variety of seabirds including gannets, shearwaters, lots of terns and kittiwakes. There were a few seals bottleing round the island, and we saw the splash of a breaching sunfish. This afternoon we went further south and found just a few common dolphins in loosely scattered groups – they were hard to spot in the grey choppy conditions, but luckily one of them was doing some very big leaps. We then had a sail offshore on the northerly breeze. Coming into the coast we found three seals hauled out on the rocks.
