Saturday 13th May

an animal swimming in the water

It’s been a gorgeous day today with unbroken sunshine and light winds. Some among us even wore shorts! This morning we sailed southwards to where we saw some shearwaters and gannets feeding and found a very interactive and sociable pod of common dolphins who swam with us for miles as we sailed downwind, engines off. Further along the coast we found another group, then a large group of gannets on the water. We also saw grey seals. This afternoon we had to go a lot further to find the dolphins – however we were able to spot them from a long way off. Along with the gannets and shearwaters, we also had good views of several puffins, and at the end of the trip, some more seals..
