Monday 29th June

It was a long day today with an Ocean Discovery this morning followed by a Discovery Voyage. There was still quite a lot of westerly swell out there, which made searching conditions tricky. This morning we found lots of seals hauled out on the rocks, and further west there was a glimpse of a porpoise and a sunfish, but otherwise it was fairly quiet. During the afternoon there were still a few seals left round the island despite the tide quickly coming in, then further south we found a small pod of common dolphins. They mostly kept themselves to themselves, however we had a few close swim bys. Seabirds were fairly quiet though there were some Manx shearwaters, kittiwakes, guillemots and shearwaters.
