Monday 28th September

It looks like that was the last day we’ll do in September today and it has actually been busier than some summer months we have had. Thank you to everyone who has joined us this month – we have certainly had some memorable trips, with wildlife galore. This morning we had a 3 hour tour and we were joined by plenty of common dolphins who are still out there in large numbers. Among them were some really big tuna, and there were also plenty of seals around the island.
This afternoon we had a Bay Discovery. The seals were still around the island, mostly on the rocks but there was also a male swimming round trying to find somewhere to haul out. It appeared he was unwelcome everywhere he went. Then we headed south towards some distant and very fast moving seabirds, which told us where the dolphins and tuna would be. They led us further west than we would normally go on a two hour trip, but showed us some incredible sights – huge tuna, the biggest we have seen this year, jumping repeatedly. So hard to get a photo of though! There were also some dolphins joining in with the feast. We then had a great sail across the building southeasterly wind.
Tomorrow and Wednesday are cancelled because of the windy conditions and big swell. Not sure about later in the week yet – give us a call to get the latest.
