Friday 11th April

grey seal

What a beautiful sunny week it’s been – there’s  hardly been a cloud in the sky. The sea was a bit calmer today after the easterly breeze finally dropped to almost nothing, so we were able to head a bit further west and out to sea. There were plenty of seals, on and  round the island all day, and lots of seabirds to see including fulmars, guillemots and Manx shearwaters. This afternoon we had the rather grisly sight of watching a great black backed gull scavenging on a long dead seal. All part of the circle of life. This afternoon we had a lovely tranquil sail after watching the seals.
