Wednesday 31st May

grey seals swimming

It started off grey and cold today, but the sun appeared midway through the afternoon. The wind was a bit lighter so we headed west to check the areas towards Gwennap Head, but all was quiet down there. It must be this persistent easterly wind. We had some good views of some seals hauled out on the island and some seabirds. This afternoon we reverted to the easterly route and saw a few seals in different locations though the best view was the last one. So quiet for seabirds at the moment! We always have a quiet spell in May – I think this is it. June tomorrow though.
