Wednesday 21st June

Risso's dolphin

We had a great day today with Risso’s dolphins spotted on the morning trip and hundreds of common dolphins on both the morning and the afternoon trips. The Risso’s were moving quietly down the coast and would have been easy to miss, but we spotted them. The common dolphins we saw on both trips were in a tremendously engaged and sociable mood and bowride with us for miles as we sailed. It was like a July trip. We also saw lots of seabirds including feeding gannets, shearwater and razorbills, and grey seals hauled out on the rocks.
