Thursday 7th September

common dolphins

Two busy trips today on another warm September day, though it got a little hazy this afternoon. On the morning Discovery Voyage we had great sightings of large pods of harbour porpoises and several groups of common dolphins. We also had lovely views of seals, diving gannets, some bluefin tuna and an ocean sunfish! It was sculling along among the jellyfish. This afternoon we had to work much harder to find some dolphins than we have had to for some time, however after searching hard we found a very interactive small pod who swam along with us as we sailed, giving everyone beautiful views. We also saw harbour porpoises and grey seals at the start of the trip. The numbers of crystal jellyfish are insane at the moment.
