Thursday 21st March

puffin

We had a Bay Discovery trip this morning and found a good variety of wildlife. There were still several seals hauled out on the island despite the rising tide, including the male “Seaweed” who we have seen for the last few years. He was even on Countryfile! There were lots of seabirds feeding in the bay – there are loads of sprats inshore at the moment. Kittiwakes, guillemots, razorbills, gannets, Manx shearwaters, and we had great views of an adult puffin on the water. There were also four different groups of harbour porpoises, more than twenty altogther.
