Sunday 9th June

common dolphins

We had a busy day today with a Discovery Voyage followed by an Ocean Discovery trip. This morning we went a long way south and found lots of feeding shearwaters, and were ambushed by a small pod of juvenile common dolphins who enjoyed a spot of bowriding. Closer in we saw several seals hauled out on the rocks, a couple of which were so high above the water line it looked as though they had got out on high tide. Setting off on the afternoon trip, we found all the seals had moved and we had lovely views of a small female hauling out next to Seaweed the bull seal. The wind increased this afternoon so we had some great sailing though the dolphins had moved somewhere else.
