Sunday 28th May

a bird swimming in water next to the ocean

It was another day of two halves today, with calm conditions first thing, then a strong northeasterly wind suddenly built at lunchtime. This morning we watched some grey seals dozing round the island then headed south west and found several small groups of common dolphins. Some of these were feeding with mixed groups of kittiwakes, auks and shearwaters. This afternoon we sailed with the strong wind behind us down to the west, then came back under the shore for shelter. We saw seabirds and a sleeping grey seal.
