Friday 27th June

common dolphin leaping

I was unsure all week about whether Friday trips would be possible based on the wind forecast. We were able to head out on an early Ocean Discovery this morning in the end and we’re glad we did, because there was an amazing feeding frenzy going on in the bay. Hungry  dolphins raced around herding up fish, being followed by equally hungry gannets raining in from above. It was a spectacular sight. We had great views of another sooty shearwater fishing and preening itself, before finding some grey seals at the end. The wind has really built now, so this we’re not out this afternoon.

Tomorrow’s Discovery Voyage trip is full, but three spaces currently remain on the 2pm Bay Discovery.
