Wednesday 4th October

A common dolphin

It was a lovely day out on the water today. Enough wind to sail well without being too rough. We have a 3 hour Ocean Discovery this morning and found 3 groups of common dolphins one pod had lots of young calves and another was feeding with an escort of gannets. We also saw harbour porpoises at the start of the trip and a bigger pod at the end of the tour. There were quite a few seals on the island including lots of juveniles. The afternoon Bay Discovery started by seeing lots of seals. As we sailed offshore we found some porpoises. Searching further offshore we found some feeding gannets before heading for home.
