Wednesday 1st April

A seabird flying over ocean waves with outstretched wings.

We went out orca hunting today after we heard that the old bull killer whales John Coe and Aquarius were off the south coast and possibly heading west into Mount’s Bay. Sadly we were only on a two hour trip and they were beyond the scope of our search, though maybe they’ll come by tomorrow? Who knows? Nevertheless we had a lovely two hour Bay Discovery and a cracking sail out offshore into where all the seabirds were feeding – lots of guillemots and razorbills along with shearwaters and a few gannets. The cliffs are getting busy with nesting fulmars now too, and the island was chockablock with hauled out seals.
