Thursday 2nd April

We had a Bay Discovery followed by an Ocean Discovery trip today. It was cold, but bright with a good breeze for sailing especially in the morning. Again there were lots of seals hauled out on the island including the female we have seen for a few years now – she is the one with the heart shaped what looks like fungal infection on her side. Among the others we saw another with curious markings – its head and body looked as though they belonged on completely different seals 😁. Sailing offshore we found the birds, particularly guillemots and razorbills, along with gannets, Manx shearwaters and sandwich terns. We looked in vain for orca fins but of course they could be in Ireland by now! Those boys have been known to make journeys of 100 miles in a day.
Sadly the wind strength tomorrow and Saturday means we have to cancel, but back on on Sunday is the plan. We are fully booked, however if anyone cancels, I will update the availability.
