Sunday 2nd September

Two ocean sunfish

What a couple of trips we had today in spite of (or maybe because of) the misty conditions, and with some really friendly and interested passengers. I do love September! Dolphins here, dolphins there, dolphins literally everywhere. Leaping tuna in the morning, shearwaters (again four species spotted), grey seals, harbour porpoises. This afternoon we had an INCREDIBLE encounter with a couple of ocean sunfish – the best views we have had for a couple of years actually. They have been rather fewer in number in the last three or so years than they were a decade ago, but these were almost curious in the same way dolphins are. Duncan managed to get the GoPro down on a pole and film one, which we have not managed to do before.
