What to expect:
OUR FLAGSHIP, LIMITED-CAPACITY WILDLIFE VOYAGE
A five hour wildlife adventure exploring the seas around Mount’s Bay and the far south-west of Cornwall. As our longest and most immersive trip, the Discovery Adventure is designed for those who want to spend a full session at sea, visiting a greater variety of wildlife habitats in a single day.
With extra time on the water, we can combine several of the areas we have studied over many years of research and observation. Itineraries vary depending on sea conditions and recent sightings. We may sail along the coast to visit seal colonies and seabird cliffs near Land’s End, explore offshore waters with strong wildlife potential, or follow a flexible route shaped by the day’s conditions.
The aim is to experience as much of the region’s rich marine life as possible, while enjoying the rhythm of the sea and the freedom that a longer voyage provides. Throughout the trip, our experienced guides will share deeper insights into the wildlife we encounter and the research we carry out, offering a more immersive experience than on our shorter trips.
Depending on the season, we could see seals, a wide range of seabirds, dolphins, porpoises, whales, bluefin tuna, ocean sunfish, and many other forms of marine life. The extended time at sea also offers excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.
This trip is best suited to those comfortable spending extended periods at sea. Passengers should come prepared with suitable clothing, food, and drink for the duration of the voyage.

Highlights
"The Discovery Adventure is our flagship wildlife voyage, ideal for those who want to spend a full session at sea exploring a greater variety of habitats. These trips do not run every day but aim to take advantage of the best conditions once or twice a week. For this reason it is very weather dependent, as we are aiming to to head into more exposed areas so we can explore some of the most iconic areas of the West Cornwall coastline. For example the areas off Land's End are an amazing place to see nesting and foraging seabirds during the early season (from a respectful distance of course), and the tidal races can produce perfect conditions for seeing feeding harbour porpoises. Five hours even more than four allows us to carefully survey even more areas, giving us the best chance of finding the wildlife you have come to see. Species vary with the season of course, but just imagine heading back to port having seen pelagic seabirds, whales, bluefin tuna, porpoises, seals and a couple of dolphin species! As well as the unfolding drama of the coastline round Land's End.
Passengers are encouraged to take photos and we will be sharing exactly how we are gathering data for our research, and how you can help with this.
Because of its longer length, we will be taking an additional crew member on this trip, and limiting the passenger numbers to ten not twelve. This gives you even more comfort and space for your belongings. This trip is suitable for over 16s only. These trips will be departing earlier than our shorter trips so set your alarm!
This longer voyage is best suited to those comfortable spending extended periods at sea, offering a truly immersive and rewarding experience
